Nesra

by Richard Sankar

Arsen and The Hustlaz have been labeled major networkers and have provided underground hits for in their hometown in California. They have released 15 underground CD’s and have worked with many known artists in the U.S. I had a chance to interview Arsen and this is what he had to say about his label called Servnu 151.

Crunk: Thanks for the interview. So how did you get into rapping?

Arsen: I would have to say music period. I get a great feeling from writing, arranging songs and having a vision and then creating a picture on a beat is a wonderful feeling. My production is handled by our in house producers like Fred Rock, G. Deville, Rodzilla & Adon. We also network with a lot of talented producers like Davey D (DCohn), Antrax Beats, Remy Remaq, iNokz, and JMoe to name a few.

Crunk: Cool. Name some artists that you have worked with in the past.

Arsen: We have worked with The Game, The Jacka, Black C of RBL Posse, AWax with Konvict Muzik, Mr. Doctor, Levetti, Young Dru, Prohoezak, SeanT, Lil Ric, Don Toriano, Shiesty, NH (K Dinero & SavageC), Luni Coleone, Mista Cane, JT The Bigga Figga, Cellski, Kille Kiese, and Sam Quinn. We even did an “In The Club”, 50 Cent remix that has gotten a lot of hype in the industry.

Crunk: Name some of the artists that inspired you to do this and who do you currently listen to now.

Arsen: People that inspired me to do this are Bad N Influenz, Totally Insane, Too Short, Geto Boys, Mac Clan, RBL Posse, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, E40 & The Click and plenty others from the Bay Area. The current artists that I’m listening to are T-Rock, Jadakiss, Locksmith Battles (cat is raw) and of course artists on my roster.

Crunk: Name some albums that you have dropped and name some artists on your label.

Arsen: Albums we have dropped are MIP’s”Alwayz In Progress”, Arsen “151 Explicit”,
The Takeover Mixtape, Respect Is Earned Mix CD, The Time Is Now Mixtape, Tha Alliance Mixtape (Double Disc), Rodzilla Presents “BLENDED” Mixtape, Arsen & Mista Cane - High Risk, High Reward, Trench Town Hustlaz - Enter The Tranch, Fred Rock & Trench Town Hustlaz - Raggae Meets The West Bay, Nesra - Through Them Years Street Mix and Kap10 & Arsen are Stereolized to name a few. Artists on Servnu151 Music/Alliance Music are the Trench Town Hustlaz, Fred Rock, G. Deville and I’m currently looking for a new artists.

Crunk: Any other projects you are working on besides rap albums?

Arsen: Yes indeed. I have connected with a Christian singer named Rene M. and his first single featuring NESRA is titled “Victorious”.

Crunk: Are you part of the “Hyphy” movement and who in the Bay Area do you listen to?

Arsen: No. I have never supported that movement in our area. The Bay Area has always been known to be wild. To give it a new title is cool but to say it’s a whole new lifestyle is wrong. I listen to very few from the Bay Area like San Quinn, Locksmith, Beeda Weeda and Mistah Fab.
