So my good friend Dede heads to Chicago this summer to experience their annual Taste of Chicago festival for the first time. When it comes to food one can experience a myriad of delicacies. From the Chi’s most elite the chop houses, Chicago style pizza parlors, and other renowned restaurants Dede comes back raving about the popcorn. Who does that?

As a good friend does, he comes back bearing gifts and of course I get a trendy Windy City mug and he has popcorn. Well, I think I’m coming out on top because he’ll soon run out of popcorn and I’ll still have my mug. But he keeps going on an on about this Garrett Popcorn. So now I want to taste.

A mixture of caramel and cheese popcorn is something one could usually find in the mall food court. So I try it and I’m having an OMG moment myself. The stuff is really good! I mean melt in my mouth good. Fifty percent off in your favorite shoe store good! I just snagged a new man good! But Dede only has enough for him. Actually there was plenty to share, but he had to re-evaluate our friendship before he could share more and the popcorn beat me out.

I’m a resourceful person. I can find anything if it’s out there for consumption. So I make a few calls, pool a few resources and no dice.
