Don’t call it a comeback…because he hasn’t been anywhere but on the grind and waiting out his time. If you want to know where Mike Jones has been, listen for ‘The Voice’ in stores now and he promises his sophomore album answers all the questions you’ve been asking.
“You know how people were holding their breath and waiting for Obama to speak when he won the election and was about to make his acceptance speech? My fans have been waiting on it just like that!”
So where has Mike Jones been and what took so long? Jones directs all questions to ‘The Voice’. It has all the answers you seek. He says, “I want people to hear my explanation. I want them to hear my testimony for my four year hiatus.”
Some say trouble with the label; others question whether going double platinum with ‘Who Is Mike Jones?’ was a one time success. The questions about Mike Jones didn’t stop and had gossip and blog sits buzzing. But after making a mint for the label, execs bought into the hype about his next level of success.
“In 2006, I made records that I thought were big, but they didn’t like these records. How you love me in 2005 when I was putting out my stuff and now you don’t? I can’t say if it was personal or business, but they didn’t love what I was talking bout in ’06. In the meantime, I’m still in the streets. I never left. And I’m featured with other people on they stuff and everybody loving me. So that’s how I’ve been maintaining all this time.”
“Now in 2008 I went back to the label with my stuff and they love it again. The same stuff they hated in 2006! I’m talking ‘bout Cuddy Buddy and Next To You. Now ya’ll love ‘em? “
So with an all star cast on the album and a host of brilliance on the production side(Mr. Collipark, Trey Songz, Hurricane Chris, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Twista, T-Pain, Mike Dean, Big E. and more.), Mike Jones’ ‘The Voice’ is the next sound to listen for. But when when you see Mike Jones, you’ll notice something’s’ missing.
“I went from 295 pounds to 190 pounds. I was hitting the treadmill and Subway on my break too. Ask me and I can show you how I lost the weight. I’m not just going to hold up the jeans! So if you’re trying to lose the weight, I got workout songs on ‘The Voice’. We gone get it right!”
If you don’t believe it, ask him. Mike Jones is not afraid to put it out there and once again puts out his phone number for the fans to enjoy.
“Hit me up at 281-206-4336.”
