CRUNK: Thank you for doing this interview with me.

CL: No problem, thank you.

CRUNK: So, where’d you get your name from; is it your real name?

CL: Yes, it’s my real name Candace Lynn. So I guess I got it from my mama.

CRUNK: When did you know that you wanted to be a recording artist?

CL: I always did ever since I was a little girl hitting pots and pans. I was 14 when I decided I wanted to do music seriously. I wrote poetry at 8. Mom was managing two artists.

CRUNK: Who are some of your influences, musical and otherwise?

CL: My mom. She had 3 kids by the time she was 18. I lived in battered women shelters. So, she is my inspiration because she made it. TLC, Pink Christina Aguilar; I like all kinds of music. I don’t stay being a pop artist. We go into the studio and have fun.

CRUNK: ‘Hip-Pop’ you’ve described your music as this. Explain to the reader why you call your music Hip-Pop.

CL: I do rhyme so it’s not all pop like Britney; it’s not completely hip-hop because I’m not freestyler or battler.

CRUNK: What is your fav song or songs on the album and why?

CL: Don’t know if I have a fav. I wrote them all so I’m blessed that I made all the songs. Don’t have one particular the album is my favorite.

CRUNK: What can we expect from you in the next year?

CL: Expect all great things. (laughing) What I hope is to be out there helping people, making my mark in the music industry. My video Hey Girl is already out on YouTube and Mr. Cheeks from the Lost Boys came and did an appearance. Schools, cruise lines, clubs, Power Play TV is playing it so check it out.

CRUNK: Where can people learn more about you and follow you?

CL: www.candilynn.com, FYE and iTunes you can buy my album. In FYE it’s in the rap section. One time I saw it next to jay-z (laughing). Come check me out at Mandee stores. We work our Asses off promoting since we’re independent.

CRUNK: Anything you’d like to add before closing out?

CL: No not really, but anybody that has a dream get out there every day don’t think things are just going to come to you. It has not been easy. I get so many judgments but keep moving forward! God Bless!
